What that means for your vehicle:
Identify issues before they become serious
Keep repair costs down
Check manufacturer notifications
Engine servicing, or engine maintenance, is a set of procedures that keep a vehicle's engine in good working order. It's important for a vehicle's performance, safety, and longevity.
Engine Servicing can include:
Inspecting & replacing spark plugs
Cleaning or replacing filters
Lubricating all moving parts
Regular engine servicing can help:
Improve performance
Detect problems early
Increase longevity of your engine
Increase fuel efficiency
Tire maintenance, including regular checks for correct pressure, tread depth, and general condition, helps keep your vehicle safe and running well. Tires need to be rotated at regular intevals to keep tire wear even.
Tires also need to be changed from season to season.
Regular tire maintenance can help
Reduce risk of accidents
Improve vehicle efficiency
Prolong tire life
Increase mileage
An oil change is the process of draining out the old engine oil and replacing it with fresh clean oil. The oil filter is changed at the same time. Particles of metal and debris from engine parts gradually darken and thicken the oil which lilmits its effectiveness. Left unattended, it would eventually lead to complete engine failure. Check your vehicle's owners manual for it's recommended frequency of oil changes.
Why is it necessary?
Prevent overheating
Reduce wear and tear
Improve efficiency and performance
Increase life of engine
What's stopping you?
Obviously, it is very important to keep your vehicles brakes in good shape. You should have the brakes checked each time you have your tires rotated or seasonally changed - about every 6 months and brake lines checked with every oil change. Maintenance helps keep the brakes at optimal performance, ensuring consistent safety.
The picture shows two of the brake types that we look after at MOR Auto, drum and disc brakes, but we also service air brakes.
Your brakes need immediate service if you experience:
Squealing
Vibration
Spongy pedal
Grinding
A muffler’s job is to reduce noise pollution and improve performance. It also helps remove harmful exhaust gases so your car meets emission standards. Have your car's muffler inspected regularly for signs of damage like small holes or rust. Also the pipes and hangers should be inspected.
It's time to replace your muffler when:
Vehicle is louder than normal
Smelly fumes are noticed
Poor gas mileage
Holes or rust is seen
Vehicle overheats
A full tune up could include:
Diagnostic test
Spark plug replacement
Oil change
Filter replacement - air, oil, fuel, pcv
Belts and hoses inspection
Windshield wiper replacement
Fluids check
Battery & brake check
Tire check/rotation
There are different types of transmissions and therefore different needs for timing and service.
Automatic Transmission - routine maintenance includes fluid and filter change as well as a visual inspection.
Manual Transmission - routine maintenance includes fluid and filter change, clean or replace transmission pan, and visual inspection for damage and wear.
Why do the maintenance?
Fuel efficiency
Prevents costly repairs
Extends transmission lifespan
As the summer heat arrives, a properly functioning air conditioner in your vehicle is essential to your comfort. To keep it at optimal performance, regular maintenance is a necessity. Your technician will check and/of replace your cabin air filter. He will check for any leaks, inspect the belts and hoses, the cooling fan, condenser and compressor. Running your A/C unit often, even in cooler weather and not overloading the system will prolong it’s life.
Benefits of regular maintenance:
Detect issues early
Ensure proper functioning
Keep the air fresh
Fuel efficiency
